Carers Conference
 

The 5th International Carers Conference takes place in Leeds from Friday 9th July.  We want you and Carers in your area to be part of this conference as the topics which are being discussed effect us all.
Carers World Radio will be broadcasting from the conference each day to bring the millions of Carers and those they care for across the globe the discussion and debate from the event.
Carers will also be able to take part through email, telephone, chatroom and well as facebook and twitter.

Who is a Carer?
A family carer can be a relative, friend or neighbour.
A family carer can be of any age.
A family carer can come from any ethnic, religious or racial background.
bullet1 in 7 people care for others.
bullet43% are men.
bulletOne third of family carers are between 45 - 64 years of age.
bullet12,000 children care for their parents.
Family carers are often overlooked and are certainly undervalued.

Princess Royal Trust - Caring For Carers (9KB)
Family carers often take on great workloads, involving personal care, emotional support, company and practical support.  Many often care day and night seven days a week.   The majority of family carers take on this role out of sense of love, commitment or duty.
